This guide outlines how to create and configure a subscription-based product in Lightspeed VT, including product details, Stripe pricing, access settings, and end-of-subscription behavior.

00:10: Open the Super User Dashboar in the Lightspeed VT system to begin configuring your product settings.

00:17: Click stripe integration to access payment Gateway configurations.

00:22: Click individual purchase settings to manage purchase options for products.

00:27: Click products to view and manage your product list.

00:30: Click add new product to start creating a new subscription product.

00:35: Enter the product name.

00:40: Add a product description; this is optional.

00:43: Enter an internal description for reference; this is optional.

00:48: Click "Subscription Setting" to configure subscription details for the product.

00:53: Choose "Subscription" for the Product Type.

00:55: Select the product from the dropdown menu if it is already available in Stripe.

01:00: If the product has not been created in Stripe, click the "Add New Price" button to create the product and price point.

01:13: Click product amount to specify the amount for the price.

01:17: Click interval lengths to define the billing interval duration.

01:21: Click "Select Interval" to choose the billing interval.

01:34: If applicable, remove any content roles that users should not retain after purchase.

01:40: Select the Access Level from the dropdown.

02:01: This will ensure the user's account remains active, allowing them to sign back in and repurchase if they wish.

02:08: Select the content roles to be added once the subscription concludes.

02:13: In this example, we will select the "SELLABLE: Monthly Subscription Content" role, allowing users to repurchase a subscription if they wish.

02:21: Select the content role to be removed when the subscription concludes.

02:25: In this example, we will select the "Monthly Subscription Content," effectively removing access to the content.

02:32: Click "Add" to create the product.

02:35: Once you've added the product, click "Save" at the bottom and you have successfully created and configured a subscription-based product in Lightspeed VT. This includes setting product details, pricing, subscription parameters, access levels, and end-of-subscription actions. 1. Access the Setup Area

  • Log in to vt.lightspeedvt.com.
  • Open the Super User Dashboard.
  • Go to:
    • Stripe Integration
    • Individual Purchase Settings
    • Products
  • Click Add New Product.

2. Configure Product Details

  • Enter the Product Name.
  • Add a public description (optional).
  • Add an internal description (optional).
  • Set Product Type to Subscription.

3. Set Up Pricing in Stripe

  • Select an existing Stripe product
    OR
  • Click Add New Price to create one:
    • Enter Price Name
    • Add a description (optional)
    • Set the Product Amount
    • Define the Billing Interval (length and frequency)

4. Configure Subscription Access

  • Assign Content Role(s) granted upon purchase.
  • Remove any roles users should not retain.
  • Select the appropriate Access Level.

5. Define End-of-Subscription Behavior

Under Subscription End:

  • Set Account Status to No Change (recommended) to keep the account active for repurchase.
  • Choose:
    • Roles to add after the subscription ends (e.g., sellable subscription role)
    • Roles to remove (e.g., subscription content access)

6. Finalize

  • Click Add
  • Click Save

Your subscription product is now fully configured with pricing, billing intervals, access control, and end-of-subscription actions.
