Article summary

What is 2FA and why would I want it?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure that requires users to provide two separate authentication factors to access their accounts: their username and password, as well as a one-time verification code that is sent to their email or mobile device.

By implementing 2FA, you can bolster the security of your users' accounts and meet security standards and regulations that may be mandated by certain industries or jurisdictions. Furthermore, 2FA is an easy and reliable method to strengthen the security of your VT system and safeguard your intellectual property.

How to Enable 2FA

To enable 2FA, simply head to the Super User Dashboard and select [101] System Management'

Under System Feature Toggles, scroll to the bottom of the list to find Enable 2FA Sign In. Select Yes and then Save your changes.

Enable 2FA - System Settings

That's it! Now, whenever a user attempts to sign in, they will be asked to provide a one-time verification code which is automatically sent to their email or mobile device.

Note: By Default, all Locations will inherit the System Settings. You may disable 2FA at specific locations by going to Location Settings and selecting 'No'.

If a user happens to have both an email and mobile number, they are given the opprotunity to select which method they prefer to receive the verification code, as shown in the example below.
