Sending Data From LightSpeed VT to Hubspot
You may want to send data from Lightspeed VT to another application when certain events occur within your system such as user creation or update. By leveraging a tool like Zapier, you’re able update a user’s information in Hubspot for marketing or follow up purposes. If you haven’t set up a Zapier account or webhooks, please read about it here
Things you will need:
- An account with LightSpeed VT
- An integrated Zapier account (See Link above)
- A Hubspot account
Click the ‘Make a Zap!” button to get started.
In the first step of the Zap (The Trigger) search for and select LightSpeed VT.
The next step is to choose the event that triggers the zap. In this example, we’ll choose the “User Created” event.
Press ‘Save + Continue’.
Next you will need to connect your LightSpeed account to Zapier. You will need the credentials from the ‘Zapier Credentials’ section in the LightSpeed API control panel. To get to the API control panel follow the click path below
Super User Dashboard -> Integration Management [105] -> API Settings -> Choose your system
In Zapier hit the ‘Connect an Account’ button, a popup will ask you for the information above. Enter the information and hit ‘Yes, Continue’
Press ‘Save + Continue’, it will now test the connection and load the test data, press Fetch and Continue and Continue one more time if the test passed.
The left section should look like this if you used the User Created trigger:
Next we will configure the Hubspot section.
Search for Hubspot in the ‘Choose an Action App’ section:
Choose the correct action for your Hubspot workflow, it will probably be ‘Create or Update Contact’ or ‘Add Contact to List’.
Press ‘Save + Continue’
Next you will need to connect your Hubspot account to Zapier, Press the ‘Connect an Account’ and enter your Hubspot credentials in the popup.
Press ‘Save + Continue’
Now you will set up the template, adding the LightSpeed VT fields into the new Hubspot contact.
Press the button to show the list of available fields and select them from the list:
Do this step for Email address, first name, last name, etc. You can use any of the LightSpeed Fields in Hubspot, or if you enter text it will set that statically for that field in Hubspot.
After this step is complete, press ‘Continue’ at the bottom.
It will show a preview of the test data in the next step based on the template you set up in the previous step. Review this and press Send Test To Hubspot’ when done.
Once the test is complete, review it in Hubspot and press ‘Finish’ in Zapier.
Name your Zap and turn it on. The integration is now complete.
