Password Sharing

At LightSpeed VT, we're dedicated to ensuring the security of your VT System. We've implemented various measures to minimize username and password sharing. In this article, we'll walk you through these security features, some of which are always active, while others are optional and can be enabled as needed.

1. One User, One Login: First and foremost, our system allows only one instance of a username to be signed in at any given time. This means that if someone with the username "John-Smith" is currently signed in, and another person attempts to sign in with the same username, the first User will be automatically logged out. In other words, "John-Smith" cannot be signed in from multiple locations simultaneously.

   If you suspect that a username is being shared, you can refer to the Usage Report. This report logs the IP address of each User each time they sign in. If you notice multiple sign-ins from different IP addresses for the same username in a single day, it may indicate unauthorized sharing of login credentials. 2. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): We offer an optional Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature that you can enable. With 2FA, users are required to enter a PIN number delivered via SMS text (or email) to complete the sign-in process, adding an extra layer of security. You can enable 2FA for your VT System upon sign-in by following the steps outlined in this article.

3. Course-Specific 2FA:
   For additional security, you can even enable 2FA for specific Courses. This is especially useful for protecting high-value or sensitive content. By adding 2FA to the first Chapter of a Course, you can enhance its security. For step-by-step instructions, check out this article.
