LightSpeed VT actively takes steps to continually increase our product features and stay in accordance with industry best practices as far as security of user’s information. We will always try to make “ease of use” our first and foremost goal, but security and protection of private data is also something we take very seriously. The password policy for end users is as follows:
- Passwords must be at least six characters in length
- Passwords must contain one upper case letter, one lower case letter, and one number or symbol
- Passwords cannot contain the word “Password”
Encryption Methodology: Passwords are encrypted using Hash with salt.
For additional security measures, there is a feature listed in the “System Settings → System Feature Toggles” where you can toggle YES to this setting:
Lock the user after (select 2 through 8) unsuccessful login attempts.
If this unsuccessful login attempt is reached, a message will display to the user on the sign in box of:
“This account has been locked. For assistance, please contact support to unlock your account”
Any Manager or Super User that has the appropriate privileges to “manage” the username in question, can “Search” for this user by any of the search criteria, and will see this message at the top of their user profile screen:
This user account can be unlocked by the Manager or Super User simply clicking the “Unlock Account” button.
