Adding “PayPal” as a Payment Option

LightSpeed VT now offers Paypal as a “One Time” payment option. It works as an “add-on” to Chargify processing and uses a Paypal Smart Payment Button. It is independent from any other merchant gateway or process.
All monies collected will be going to the client’s PayPal configured account and not to Chargify. Currently, it is still necessary for you to have a Chargify account and be configured in Integration Management in order to create a checkout page and to process a recurring subscription with Chargify.
Setup and Configuration
In your 105 – Integration Management section, navigate to the Chargify Integration section and either create a new Checkout page, or modify an existing one. Under General Settings, you will find a new section is available to enter PayPal Account information.
The available fields are:
- A check box to turn on the button for the checkout page
- A check box to turn on Live mode (This takes it out of testing mode)
- Client ID (This can be found in developer.paypal.com – My Apps & Credentials -> REST API Apps -> App -> Sandbox / Live API Credentials)
- Client Secret Key (This can be found in developer.paypal.com – My Apps & Credentials -> REST API Apps -> App -> Sandbox / Live API Credentials)
The PayPal integration will recognize when your checkout page is for a “One time product” and only display the PayPal button in those instances.
To define a One time product, in Chargify you will need to set up the expiration for the product “on or before” the length of the product (This is a workaround we currently need to use for one time charge products, as Chargify does not currently support them.)
