Creating and Using a Demo Location for B2B Clients

What’s a Demo Location?
A B2B demo location in LightSpeed VT is your private, branded playground to show potential clients what you’re made of. Think of it as a “test drive” — prospects can experience your training system firsthand, without unlocking the full, paid version.
Used well, it gives buyers the confidence they need to say yes.
Why You Should Use a Demo Location
- Show Off, Strategically
Highlight key features like layout, sample content, and navigation — without overwhelming. - Seamless Self-Registration
Provide a registration link so prospects can self-enroll and explore. No manual setup required! - Build Trust, Faster
“Try before you buy” builds credibility and shortens the sales cycle.. - Control the Narrative
Decide what they see — impactful sample Courses, intro videos, or specific modules.
How to Set It Up
- Duplicate Your Location
- Go to Super User Dashboard > Location Management > Create New Location.
- Set the Source Template to your main System (to copy styles/settings)
- Give it a friendly Name (e.g.,
Demo Location – [Your Brand]
). - Under Billing Information, set:
- Business Model as desired.
- License Frequency to
0
. - Billing Notes:
For Demo Purposes Only
.
- Leave all other fields blank.
- Limit to High-Impact Content
- Go to Super User Dashboard > Content Containers (Content column).
- Under Add New Role, select
Hidden
. Name it (e.g.,Demo Users
), then Add Role. - Click the Edit icon on the new role.
- Select only 2–3 Courses or Modules that highlight value.
- Click Save Changes.
Avoid including purchasable content to keep the experience friction-free.
Add a “Book a Call” Course that links to your calendar, so you can instantly capture qualified leads ready to talk.
Add a Welcome Message or Video
- Option 1 (Custom Theme):
- Go to Super User Dashboard > Private Label Management.
- Clone your System Theme and customize it for the Demo Location.
- Option 2 (Main Menu Welcome Message):
- Go to System Management > Main Menu Welcome Message.
- Select Add New Row.
- Enter the Content Role ID and Video URL (from Media Library).
- Option 1 (Custom Theme):
Create a Registration Form
- Go to Super User Dashboard > Registration Forms (Users column).
- Click + New Account.
- Name it (e.g.,
B2B Demo Sign-Up
). - Assign to your Demo Location.
- Assign the
Demo Users
Content Role. - Select essential fields only (name, email, company).
Generate and Share the Link
- Copy the unique registration link from the form.
- Use it in:
- Follow-up emails
- Sales presentations
- Landing pages
- Social media
