Article summary

What’s a Demo Location?

A B2B demo location in LightSpeed VT is your private, branded playground to show potential clients what you’re made of. Think of it as a “test drive” — prospects can experience your training system firsthand, without unlocking the full, paid version.

Used well, it gives buyers the confidence they need to say yes.

Why You Should Use a Demo Location

  • Show Off, Strategically
Highlight key features like layout, sample content, and navigation — without overwhelming.
  • Seamless Self-Registration
Provide a registration link so prospects can self-enroll and explore. No manual setup required!
  • Build Trust, Faster
“Try before you buy” builds credibility and shortens the sales cycle..
  • Control the Narrative
Decide what they see — impactful sample Courses, intro videos, or specific modules.

How to Set It Up

  1. Duplicate Your Location
    • Go to Super User Dashboard > Location Management > Create New Location.
    • Set the Source Template to your main System (to copy styles/settings)
    • Give it a friendly Name (e.g., Demo Location – [Your Brand]).
    • Under Billing Information, set:
      • Business Model as desired.
      • License Frequency to 0.
      • Billing Notes: For Demo Purposes Only.
  • Leave all other fields blank.
  1. Limit to High-Impact Content
    • Go to Super User Dashboard > Content Containers (Content column).
    • Under Add New Role, select Hidden. Name it (e.g., Demo Users), then Add Role.
    • Click the Edit icon on the new role.
    • Select only 2–3 Courses or Modules that highlight value.
    • Click Save Changes.

Avoid including purchasable content to keep the experience friction-free.

👉 Pro tip:

Add a “Book a Call” Course that links to your calendar, so you can instantly capture qualified leads ready to talk.

  1. Add a Welcome Message or Video

    • Option 1 (Custom Theme):
      • Go to Super User Dashboard > Private Label Management.
      • Clone your System Theme and customize it for the Demo Location.
    • Option 2 (Main Menu Welcome Message):
      • Go to System Management > Main Menu Welcome Message.
      • Select Add New Row.
      • Enter the Content Role ID and Video URL (from Media Library).
  2. Create a Registration Form

    • Go to Super User Dashboard > Registration Forms (Users column).
    • Click + New Account.
    • Name it (e.g., B2B Demo Sign-Up).
    • Assign to your Demo Location.
    • Assign the Demo Users Content Role.
    • Select essential fields only (name, email, company).
  3. Generate and Share the Link

    • Copy the unique registration link from the form.
    • Use it in:
      • Follow-up emails
      • Sales presentations
      • Landing pages
      • Social media

Why This Approach Wins

  • Gives prospects a no-pressure, meaningful preview
  • Lets them experience your system’s value firsthand
  • Builds trust and answers objections early
  • Accelerates deals by moving qualified leads forward

Final tip: Treat your demo location like a VIP experience, not a dumping ground. Less is more — give them just enough to want the full package.
